Vito SLEPT!

I am so excited!  Today marks the first time that Vito has ever fall asleep while left alone.  Ever.  Here's a picture captured from the video!

It has been 6wks since he has started Prozac and before today I wasn't sure how much it was helping.  We've had some good moments in the past few weeks where Vito hasn't had any melt downs while left alone and is doing ok at work.  But up until today he still hadn't closed his eyes for more then 2 minutes while left.  Today's trial was 1hr and 36minutes and he pretty much slept from the 45minute mark until I came home with a few interruptions from the damn cat and time to eat his foot.  HUGE news!  Fingers crossed he continues to feel relaxed while on his own.

Awwwww, so great to hear this huge milestone! Sweet dreams, Vito!

Oh that is wonderful news!! That was the one thing that prozac really helped Roscoe with.......sleeping! :D

Dr. Dodman did tell me, all those years ago, that it can take 6-8 weeks for blood plasma levels to build up enough to work. It worked quicker with Roscoe, but each is different. Roscoe's tiny 9lbs metabolism might be on a different schedule.

Is the video going continuously?

Great news! Yep, it's about 8 weeks for it to fully kick in, so here's hoping for even more improvement!

Sorry this is so late - am behind as usual and trying to catch up with blog friends! - but just wanted to say I'm so happy for you!! I know what a HUGE achievement this is for Vito so I can understand why you're excited! :-) It does sound like the new medication programme is working better. Fingers crossed that Vito will continue to get better and more relaxed in his own company!

Oh! By the way - have you heard about our new contest yet? Come over to our blog to check it out! I made it especially with people/dogs like you in mind! You have so many great tricks and such a great bond with Lance & Vito - now it's the time to put them together & show it off!!! I'm counting on you to be one of our star performers! :-)
